Jobs and resources available for those who have filed for unemployment in Mower County due to the COVID-19 pandemic
With many businesses in Minnesota closing and laying off employees because of the coronavirus, the number of individuals applying for unemployment has risen.
According to data from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, 1,952 Mower County workers have applied for unemployment since March 15th. KAUS News spoke with Mike Postma, career planner and employment outreach specialist for Workforce Development, Inc. in Austin who stated that there are jobs available in the Austin area….

Postma went on to state that for the first time, independent contractors and small business owners will be eligible for unemployment benefits…
