Jacob Venenga and Lilly Reynen named Rotary Students of the Month

Jacob Venenga and Lilly Reynen were named the Rotary Students of the Month for January 2020.

Jacob competes on the Cross Country, Basketball, and Track and Field teams and is a member of Jazz Band and National Honor Society. He will graduate this year with both Scarlet Cord (volunteerism) and High Distinction honors. “I have enjoyed my time at AHS,” says Jacob. “I think it is a great school with experienced faculty.” Jacob’s future plans include attending a 4-year university to study Biology with a pre-med focus.

Lilly is a member of the Gymnastics team, Go Green Club, Link Crew, Youth Leadership, and National Honor Society, and has earned the Section 1A Academic Gold award in gymnastics. “I am very grateful to have grown up in Austin Public Schools,” says Lilly. “It has provided me with so may great opportunities and has allowed me to meet so many great friends and teachers throughout the years.” Lilly’s future plans include attending the University of Wisconsin – Madison or the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor to study Kinesiology on a pre-med track.

Each month the Austin Rotary, in conjunction with Austin Public Schools, selects two students who excel in academics, leadership, and/or activities.
