Congratulations to Hope Dudycha of the Austin Packers girls’ basketball team who tallied six points in a Big 9 Conference matchup at Winona Tuesday evening to give her exactly 1,000 points for her career as the Packers outscored the Winhawks 38-4 in the second half to win going away 53-22.

Austin trailed 18-15 at the half, but came storming back in the second stanza as Emma Dudycha led the Packers in scoring with 16 points, forward Reana Schmitt tallied 10 points, Oliva Walsh added eight points, Cassidy Schute chipped in five points, Jilian Venenga scored three points and Elyise Hebrink and Joy Deng each added two points for Austin, who moved to 7-2 on the season with  the win.

The game in Winona Tuesday night wrapped up a three-game road swing for the Packers, who return to action Friday night at home against unbeaten Rochester Mayo.  You’ll hear the game on AM 1480 KAUS, with the Austin Packers pre-game show on the air at 7:15 p.m., and varsity tip-off at 7:30 p.m.  You’ll also be able to listen via the world-wide web at myaustinminnesota.com, and on the I Heart Radio app.
