The Rochester Grizzlies of the North American 3 Hockey League have announced forwards Gavin Gunderson and Justin Wright have signed NA3HL tenders for the 2020-21 season.

Gunderson, 17, is a native of Rochester, MN and plays his high school hockey with Century. The 5-9/174-lbs forward has put up 137 points in 73 high school games the past three seasons. That includes 53 last year and 53 so far this season. Gunderson also has 11 points in 18 Minnesota High School Elite League games this season.

Wright, 18, was born in Hong Kong and currently plays at Shattuck St. Mary’s in Faribault, MN. The 6-1/181-lbs forward has been with the Shattuck St. Mary’s Midget program since the 2016-17 season. This season, while playing for the U18 AAA team, Wright has put up 62 points (23 goals, 39 assists) in 72 games.

By signing an NA3HL tender with the Grizzlies, Gunderson and Wright are ineligible for the 2020 NA3HL Draft. The Grizzlies now own their NA3HL rights.

The Grizzlies are back in action Friday taking on Central Division rival Coulee Region Chill. Puck drop is set for 7 PM from the Rochester Recreation Center. The Grizzlies will have a chance to clinch first place in the Central Division with a win of any kind Friday. This is the seventh of eight meetings between the teams this season.
