Greyhounds use two big innings offensively to down Dodge County 10-8 in regular season finale

The Austin Greyhounds used a six-run fifth and a three-run sixth inning to edge the Dodge County Diamondbacks 10-8 in their regular season finale last Friday night at Marcusen Park.

Jordan Hart put together a monster game for the Hounds, as he was 3 for 4 with three doubles, four RBI’s and two runs scored.  Eric Torres also shined as he was also 3 for 4 with a double and three runs knocked in, Alex Ciola was 2 for 4 with a double, a walk and three runs scored, his brother Tony was 1 for 3 with an RBI and a walk, Steve Serratore was 0 for 3 but knocked in a run, scored two more and walked, and Dan Bollingberg, Mark Harber and Jack Dankert all drew walks and scored a run apiece.

Serratore got the start on the mound for Austin and earned the win, pitching 8 1/3 innings and giving up five earned runs on eight hits and striking out six.  Alex Ciola earned the save as he struck out two and did not give up a run or a hit in 2/3rds of an inning.

With the win, the Greyhounds finish the regular season with a record of 7-3 in the Twin Rivers League and 9-5 overall.  The Hounds also earned a first-round bye in the region playoffs with the win, and they will take on either Red Wing or Cannon Falls Saturday, with gametime yet to be determined.
