Grand Meadow falls to Lanesboro in Section 1A girls’ basketball playoffs 46-38
The Grand Meadow Superlarks girls’ basketball team, the No. 6 seed in the Section 1A girls’ basketball tournament was looking to advance into the quarterfinals in Grand Meadow Thursday night against No. 10 seed and Southeast Conference rival Lanesboro, but it was the Burros with other ideas as they came away with a 46-38 win.
Sydney Cotten and Lexy Foster led the Larks offensively with eight points apiece, Gina Stier added seven points, Kendyl Queensland chipped in six points, River Landers tallied four points and Rebecca Hoffman and McKenna Hendrickson each added two points apiece for the Superlarks, who finish the season with a record of 9-8 overall.
With the win, Lanesboro advances to take on No. 2 seed Blooming Prairie Saturday evening at 7 p.m. at a site yet to be determined.
