Grand Meadow downs Lyle/Pacelli in Southeast Conference girls’ basketball Thursday night 68-36
The Grand Meadow Superlarks and the Lyle/Pacelli Athletics met in the second game of a home-and-home series in Lyle in Southeast Conference girls’ basketball action Thursday night, and Lexy Foster tallied two of the Larks’s eight 3-point field goals in the game on her way to 12 points, plus she added 13 rebounds for a double-double as the Superlarks downed the Athletics for the second time in three days 68-36.
Besides Foster’s double-double, Sydney Cotten led Grand Meadow in scoring with 16 points, plus she added eight rebounds, River Landers narrowly missed a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds, McKenna Hendrickson scored nine points in the win for the Larks, while Madison Hindt added five points and Leah Hanson swished a 3-pointer for three points. Alana Rogne led Lyle/Pacelli in scoring with 11 points, Kirsten Koopal added eight points, Olivia Heart chipped in five points and Emma Wilde tallied four points.
With the win, their fifth in their last six games, Grand Meadow moves to 7-5 overall and 7-2 in the SEC, while Lyle/Pacelli fell to 1-11 overall and 1-9 in the Southeast Conference. The Superlarks return to action next Monday night in Dover for a non-conference matchup with the Eagles of Dover/Eyota, while Lyle/Pacelli will be on the road next Tuesday for a conference matchup with Randolph.
