Gas prices up to $.50 cheaper this Thanksgiving, but fewer travelers on the roads due to COVID-19

Although the CDC is urging Americans not to travel this Thanksgiving holiday weekend, many Minnesotans will still be taking their vehicles and hitting the road for the holiday.  KAUS News spoke with Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis with the website gasbuddy.com, who stated that travelers will be seeing much cheaper gas prices this Thanksgiving than last year’s…..

 

DeHaan stated that looking ahead, talk of a COVID-19 vaccine becoming available could start a rise in gas prices…

 

The current average price for a gallon of gas in Mower County is $2.04, which is tied for the highest average price for a gallon of gas in the state with Martin County, while the lowest average price is in Aitkin County in east central Minnesota at $1.76.  The statewide average for a gallon of gas is currently $1.94, while the national average is $2.14.
