Gas prices in Minnesota have been holding steady as of late at around $2.50 per gallon.  KAUS News spoke with Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis with the website gasbuddy.com who stated that heading toward the Thanksgiving holiday, even though gas prices could be at their highest level in some time, it’s still a good time to head out on the road…

DeHaan went on to state that the gradual rise in gas prices the last few years for the Thanksgiving holiday are due to OPEC cutting back production…

The average price for a gallon of gas in Mower County currently stands at $2.52.  The county with the highest average price for a gallon of gas is Lake of the Woods County on the state’s northern border at $2.67.  The counties with the lowest average price are Polk and Cass Counties, both at $2.33. The statewide average price for a gallon of gas currently sits at $2.46, while the national average is $2.59.
