Gas prices are on the rise in Minnesota headed into the Memorial Day weekend

Gas prices around Minnesota and the country are on the rise as we head toward the Memorial Day weekend.  KAUS News spoke with Patrick DeHaan, Head of Petroleum Analysis with the website gasbuddy.com who stated that the loosening of COVID-19 pandemic restrictions around the country has put more Americans back on the road, and in turn has sent gas prices higher…

DeHaan went on to state that motorists can expect to see gas prices continue to trend higher heading into the summer months….

The average price for a gallon of gas in Mower County has risen to $1.96.  The counties with the highest average price for a gallon of gas are currently Steele, Olmsted, Nicollet and Kanabec all at $1.99, while the lowest price is still in Pennington County in northwestern Minnesota at $1.64.  The statewide average price for a gallon of gas in Minnesota is currently $1.87, while the national average is $1.95.
