Four additional COVID-19 cases recorded in Mower County Wednesday for cumulative total of 4,644

Mower County logged 4,519 confirmed and 125 probable COVID-19 cases Wednesday for a cumulative total of 4,644 since the onset of the pandemic, up four from Tuesday, according to statistics released Wednesday by the Minnesota Department of Health.   Pam Kellogg, Division Manager with Mower County Health and Human Services reported that there are currently approximately 50 active COVID-19 cases in the county.  Health officials stated that 42,021 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 573,300 people have been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 13,216 cumulative cases Wednesday, a rise of 26 from Tuesday, Steele County reported 3,861 cumulative cases Wednesday, up 12 from Tuesday and Freeborn County confirmed 3,412 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up one from Tuesday.  Dodge County now has 1,843 cumulative cases Wednesday, up six from Tuesday and Fillmore County recorded 1,557 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up two from Tuesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 919 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Wednesday for a cumulative total of 590,346, and they added that 15 additional COVID-19 deaths were reported in the state from Tuesday to Wednesday for a cumulative total of 7,255 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 31,164 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalizations since the start of the pandemic, and 6,339 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
