Four additional COVID-19 cases recorded in Mower County Thursday for cumulative total of 4,786

Mower County logged 4,651 confirmed and 135 probable COVID-19 cases Thursday for a cumulative total of 4,786 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of four from Wednesday, according to statistics released Thursday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials added that 43,335 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 600,800 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.  

Olmsted County recorded 13,567 cumulative cases Thursday, up 10 from Wednesday, Steele County reported 4,016 cumulative cases Thursday, which was unchanged from Wednesday, and Freeborn County confirmed 3,531 cumulative COVID-19 cases Thursday, a rise of five from Wednesday.  Dodge County now has 1,913 cumulative cases, up eight from Thursday and Fillmore County recorded 1,601 cumulative COVID-19 cases Thursday, up one from Wednesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 551 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Thursday for a cumulative total of 612,001, and they added that three additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Wednesday to Thursday for a cumulative total of 7,663 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 33,265 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 6,728 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
