Five additional COVID-19 cases reported in Mower County by MDH Friday for cumulative total of 4,500

Mower County logged 4,380 confirmed and 120 probable COVID-19 cases Friday for a cumulative total of 4,500 since the onset of the pandemic, up five from Thursday, according to statistics released Friday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials stated that 40,333 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 524,900 people have been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 12,703 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, a rise of 21 from Thursday, Steele County reported 3,599 cumulative cases Friday, an increase of 22 from Thursday and Freeborn County confirmed 3,255 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up five from Thursday.  Dodge County now has 1,708 cumulative COVID-19 cases, also up five from Thursday and Fillmore County recorded 1,515 cumulative cases Friday, up one from Thursday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 2,299 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Friday for a cumulative total of 552,117, and they added that Minnesota’s death toll from the coronavirus rose by six Friday to 6,995 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 28,856 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since  the pandemic started, and 5,892 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
