Extra D-U-I enforcement will be on Minnesota roadways between now and September 7th. Mike Hanson, director of the state department of traffic safety says it is a team effort.

Hanson says running the campaign through the traditional end of summer is no coincidence…

The Austin Police Department and the Mower County Sheriff’s Office are amongst the over 300 law enforcement agencies from around the state taking part in the enforcement period.  Last year there were 89 fatalities linked to impaired driving. D-P-S says each year, one in four fatalities in Minnesota is related to an impaired driver.
