Enrollment in Minnesota DNR’s Walk-In Access Program starts March 15th

Enrollment begins Wednesday, March 15th for the 2023 Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Walk-In Access Program, a program that pays landowners to allow public hunting.

The program is looking for parcels at least 40 acres in size with high-quality cover.

Program Coordinator Amber Knutson says landowners can get paid 18 dollars per acre, meaning the program benefits both hunters and landowners…

Knutson says the program remains successful because of respectful hunters who follow rules and regulations. Walk-In Access will be available in more than 40 Minnesota counties, including two different sites in Mower County, for the coming year.

Sign-up closes May 1st.  The walk-in access sites are open during any legal hunting season in Minnesota from September 1st to May 31st.
