Eight additional COVID-19 cases recorded in Mower County Friday for cumulative total of 4,450

Mower County logged 4,330 confirmed and 120 probable COVID-19 cases Friday for a cumulative total of 4,450 since the onset of the pandemic, up eight from Thursday, according to statistics released Friday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials stated that 39,847 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and just over 512,000 people have been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County reported 12,540 cumulative cases Friday, a rise of 28 from Thursday, Steele County now has 3,446 cumulative cases, up 12 from Thursday and Freeborn County recorded 3,185 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, a jump of 25 from Thursday.  Dodge County logged 1,677 cumulative cases Friday, up six from Thursday and Fillmore County reported 1,500 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up one from Thursday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 2,659 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Friday for a cumulative total of 537,828, and they added  that Minnesota’s death toll from the coronavirus rose by 10 Friday to 6,932 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 28,106 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the pandemic started, and 5,765 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
