The Minnesota Department of Transportation announced earlier this week that the Interstate 90 eastbound paving project between Albert Lea and Austin has been completed.  KAUS News spoke with Mike Dougherty, Director of Public Engagement and Communications with MnDOT District 6 in Rochester who stated that the concrete overlay will give the road a life span of 30+ years…

Dougherty went on to state that the completion of the project wraps up local road work for MnDOT for the fall, and he added that looking ahead to next spring, work will start anew at the I-90/U.S. Highway 63 interchange near Rochester….

Dougherty stated that there will also be bridgework to be undertaken by MnDOT in Austin next year, and he went on to talk about future bridge projects in Austin in years to come…
