COVID-19 vaccination process continues in Mower County

Mower County Health and Human Services have been continuing to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to those in vaccine group 1A, which includes health care personnel and long-term care residents, plus also EMS personnel, mental health practitioners, group home employees and residents, daycares and all early childhood through 12th grade education personnel.  KAUS News spoke with Pam Kellogg, Division Manager with Mower County Health and Human Services, who stated that the vaccination process in the county has been proceeding well…

Kellogg went on to state that residents of Mower County 65 years of age and older are encouraged to log on to www.co.mower.mn.us and click on the  “COVID-19 vaccination wait list for Mower County residents 65 and over” link on the front of the page to put themselves on a waitlist to be vaccinated…  

Kellogg also talked to KAUS News about the new Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, and when it will be available in Mower County….

The Minnesota Department of Health reported that at last word in Mower County, 7,013 residents in the county out of a total of 40,124 have received one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 3,171 people have completed the vaccination series for a total of 7.9% of the residents in the county.  For the state of Minnesota, 1,450,360 total doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered, and 500,188 residents of the state have received both doses of the vaccine thus far.
