Chatfield woman sentenced to jail time and supervised probation on felony aiding an offender charge in Mower County District Court

A Chatfield woman who pleaded guilty to aiding an individual who at the time was an attempted murder suspect in February of 2020 has been sentenced to supervised probation and jail time in Mower County District Court.

22-year old Jaiden Pamela Schumacher was sentenced Thursday to four days in jail and three years of supervised probation for a felony charge of aiding an offender to avoid arrest, harbor or conceal.  Schumacher was given credit for four days already served, and she was also granted a stay of imposition in the case where the defendant pleads guilty to a felony-level offense.  If he or she successfully completes their probation, the conviction will be deemed a misdemeanor.  Schumacher first pleaded guilty to the charge as part of a plea agreement in the case on August 23rd, and she was convicted the same day.

Schumacher was arrested in the early morning hours of February 16h, 2020, at her Austin residence along with Cham Nygare Gilo, who was wanted by police in connection to a Northeast Austin burglary in which shots had been fired.  Gilo was charged with six felonies in the case, including attempted murder and burglary. He later pleaded guilty to charges of burglary and being a violent felon in possession of firearm ammunition in the case and is currently serving an 88-month prison sentence.
