Burnsville man killed in one-vehicle rollover-type accident on Interstate 35 in Rice County Sunday morning
A Burnsville man was killed in a one-vehicle rollover-type accident on southbound I-35 near Faribault in Rice County Sunday morning.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2008 Ford truck being driven by 21-year old Zander Joseph Zaccardi of Columbia Heights was northbound on Interstate 35 at 8:04 a.m. Sunday morning when he lost control of the vehicle, went through the median, rolled and came to a stop in the southbound lanes of I-35 near milepost 59.
Zaccardi and a passenger in his vehicle, 43-year old Berrard Wilford Allan of Blaine were, according to the State Patrol seatbelted and were transported to North Memorial Hospital in Faribault after suffering non-life threatening injuries. A second passenger in the vehicle, 22-year old Adam Frank Zazzardi of Burnsville who, according to the State Patrol was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The Rice County Sheriff’s Office, Police and Fire Departments from Faribault and North Memorial Ambulance all assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene.
