BREAKING:  MDH confirms first COVID-19 case in Mower County

The Minnesota Department of Health has confirmed a case of COVID-19, or coronavirus in Mower County.

Mower County Sheriff Steve Sandvik reported in an e-mail Thursday morning that the MDH advised that a case was confirmed on Wednesday, March 18th.  No other information concerning the COVID-19 case in Mower County was available at last word.  

The Mower County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution at a meeting Wednesday declaring Mower County in a state of peacetime emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic event effective March 18th and is adding additional service delivery modifications to protect staff and the public. 

The new temporary service modifications will be in effect from now until 8:00 a.m. on April 6th.
