Bowling for the Battle, a Fight Against Prostate Cancer to be held Saturday
The ninth annual Bowling for the Battle, A Fight Against Prostate Cancer will take place on Saturday, March 18 at Echo Lanes in Austin at 2:00pm. All proceeds raised will go towards prostate cancer research at The Hormel Institute, University of Minnesota in Austin and organizer Tom Gillard talked with KAUS about some of the other people that make the yearly event a reality…
Doreen Gillard, another organizer of the event stated that the funds raised go towards seed grants, which can and have become larger grants used by researchers at the Institute in the battle against prostate cancer…
The event also features live and silent auctions, and Tom Gillard talked about some of the items that will be up for bid this year…
Donations can be dropped off at Farmers Insurance, Mike Looman at 1105 Oakland Ave. W in Austin, or you can also call for pickup at (507) 433-5006. In its eight-year existence, the event has raised a total of $351,256 for prostate cancer research at the Hormel Institute.
