Blue Cross/Blue Shield study finds most Minnesota seniors have not returned to pre-pandemic activities after being vaccinated for COVID-19

A new study from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota finds that most Minnesota seniors have received a COVID-19 vaccine, even though not all of them are returning to their pre-pandemic activities at the same rate.  Specifically, one in five vaccinated seniors have yet to visit with any family or friends, while two in five do not feel comfortable socializing with unvaccinated grandchildren.  KAUS News spoke with John Hines, a longtime radio personality in the Twin Cities speaking on behalf of Blue Cross who gave some reasons, in his view, as to why most Minnesota seniors are not returning to pre-pandemic activities after being vaccinated for COVID…

Hines went on to state that many seniors are setting health goals and taking other precautions as a way to battle the virus and its effects…

The study also found that more than half of the seniors in the study are very concerned about COVID variants, while two in three have experienced anxiety, depression, fear, isolation, or frustration since the start of the pandemic.  Other vaccinated seniors are beginning to return to activities that they pursued before life was disrupted by COVID-19, as the study found that two-thirds report having everyday, face-to-face interaction with others, while more than half are returning to such public spaces as restaurants, barbershops, salons, shopping malls and theaters.
