Bloomington man sentenced to prison time on felony drug charges in Mower County District Court
A Bloomington man who was found with a bag containing one pound, or 453 grams of methamphetamine, 3.57 grams of cocaine, two oxycodone pills and four alprazolam pills after a traffic stop in Austin on January 31st has been sentenced to prison time in Mower County District Court.

64-year old Rene Pena Cordero was sentenced Thursday to 70 months in prison for a felony charge of second-degree drugs, possession of 25 grams or more of cocaine or methamphetamine. The charge was reduced from felony first-degree drugs, possession of 50 grams or more of cocaine or methamphetamine as part of a plea agreement reached on September 30th. A felony fifth-degree drug possession charge was dismissed at the sentencing as part of the agreement.
Cordero received credit for 287 days already served.
