Blooming Prairie softball remains unbeaten with 17-2, 4 inning rout of Maple River Saturday

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms softball team came into their Gopher Conference matchup with Maple River in Blooming Prairie Saturday averaging just over 11 runs per game, and their offense was at it again as a 10-run bottom of the 2nd keyed a 17-2, 4-inning win.

Every member of BP’s lineup had at least one hit, as Bobbie Bruns led the way out of the No. 3 spot in the order by going 3 for 4 with four RBI’s and two runs scored, Lauren Schammel, who hit cleanup also rapped out three hits in four trips to the plate, including a double and a triple with a RBI and three runs scored, Layla Lembke, who was fifth in the order was also 3 for 4 with three runs knocked in and two runs scored, Alivia Schneider, who batted ninth was a perfect 3 for 3 with three RBI’s and two runs scored, Rachel Winzenburg was 1 for 3 with two RBI’s and two runs scored, Lily Schammel went 1 for 3 with a run knocked in and two runs scored, Emily Anderson was 1 for 3 for the game with a pair of RBI’s and a run scored, Alexis Steckelberg was 1 for 3 with a run knocked in and one scored and leadoff hitter Macy Lembke went 1 for 4 with two runs scored for the Blossoms, who belted out 17 hits for the game and scored four in the first, 10 in the second, two in the third and one in the fourth on their way to the win.

Junior pitcher Haven Carlson was again strong in the circle for the Blossoms as she gave up the two Maple River runs, both unearned, on three hits, striking out two and walking none in earning her fourth win of the season.

Blooming Prairie will take a 4-0 record into their next game, which is scheduled for Thursday at Randolph versus the Rockets, with first pitch scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
