Blooming Prairie softball rallies in the late innings to defeat Maple River Monday 11-8

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms softball team was on the road at Mapleton Monday for a Gopher Conference tilt against the Eagles of Maple River, and though they trailed 8-4 late in the contest, the Blossoms rallied with five runs in the 6th and two more in the 7th to earn an exciting 11-8 victory.

Bobbie Bruns rapped out two of BP’s 13 hits in the game in three official trips to the plate, both hits being doubles, plus she added two RBI’s and scored three runs.  Maren Forystek went 2 for 5 for the Blossoms with two doubles and four RBI’s, Macy Lembke was 2 for 4 with a single, a double, a RBI and a run scored, Allison Krohnberg was also 2 for 4 with a single, a triple, a RBI and three runs scored, Rachel Winzenburg went 2 for 5 with a RBI, Lexi Steckelberg also had two hits in three trips to the plate, plus she also added a RBI and Melaine Winzenburg was 1 for 4 with a single and a run scored.

Allison Krohnberg got the start in the circle for Blooming Prairie and gave up the eight Maple River runs, five earned on 13 hits, striking out four and walking six.  The Blossoms boost their record to 5-2 with the win, and they return to action at NRHEG Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
