Blooming Prairie softball falls to Bethlehem Academy 4-1 Monday
The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms softball team was looking to get back on the winning track Monday as they traveled to Faribault to take on Gopher Conference foe Bethlehem Academy, but it was the host Cardinals handing the Blossoms their second loss in a row by a score of 4-1.
Bobbie Bruns led BP offensivley by going 2 for 4 with a stolen base, plus she scored the only run of the game for the Blossoms, Maren Forystek was 2 for 3, Shawntee Snyder and Lauren Schammel were both 1 for 3 in the ball game and Allison Krohnberg tallied one hit in four trips to the plate.
Krohnberg got the start in the circle for Blooming Prairie and gave up the four Cardinal runs, none earned as the Blossoms committed five errors in the game, she gave up six hits, struck out two and walked one.  FBA scored what turned out to be the winning runs in the bottom of the second as they plated three runs in the inning, plus they added another run in the  4th.  Blooming Prairie scored their only run of the game in the top of the 5th.
With the loss, the Blossoms fall to 6-5 overall on the season and 3-5 in the Gopher Conference, and BP returns home for their next game Friday versus Hayfield, with first pitch scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
