Blooming Prairie softball downs Waterville-Elysian-Morristown 6-2 in Gopher Confernence action Thursday

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms softball team took on Gopher Conference rival Waterville-Elysian-Morristown in the first of a four-game road swing Thursday, and it was the Blossoms belting out 16 hits as a team, and pitcher Haven Carlson giving up only two runs while striking out six in a 6-2 win.

The Blossoms broke a scoreless tie with three runs in the top of the 3rd, and they added a single run in the 5th and two important insurance runs in the 7th on their way to the victory.  There were hitting heroes aplenty for BP, as leadoff hitter Macy Lembke was a perfect 4 for 4 with three runs scored an another knocked in, Bobbie Bruns continued to sting the ball for the Blossoms by going 3 for 4 with a double, a triple, two RBI’s and a run scored, Lexi Steckelberg was a perfect 3 for 3 with a double and a run scored, Shawntee Snyder went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBI’s, Alivia Schenider was 2 for 3 at the plate with a run scored and Layla Lembke and Lauren Schammel each picked up one hit apiece.

Haven Carlson was again strong in the circle for Blooming Prairie as she gave up the two WEM runs, both earned, on seven hits, striking out six and walking only one.

With their second win in a row, the Blossoms are now 10-4 overall on the season and 7-3 in the Gopher Conference.  BP is right back into action in New Richland tonight (Friday) versus NRHEG in another Gopher Conference matchup, with first pitch scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
