Blooming Prairie softball blanked by Maple River Monday 2-0

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms softball team was looking to snap a four-game losing streak and earn a regular season sweep of Gopher Conference foe Maple River in Blooming Prairie Monday, but it was the Eagles winning via a shutout by the score of 2-0.

The Blossoms were held to three hits in the game, with Allison Krohnberg, Maren Forystek and Lauren Schammel all going 1 for 3.   Krohnberg got the start in the circle for BP and pitched the first five innings, giving up both Eagle runs in the top of the 5th on five hits, striking out four and walking one.  Macy Lembke pitched the last two innings for the Blossoms and gave up no runs on two hits, striking out one and walking one.

With the loss, Blooming Prairie falls to 2-7 in the Gopher Conference and 6-8 overall on the season.  The Blossoms are right back into action this (Tuesday) afternoon as they play host to Bethlethem Academy, with first pitch at 4:30 p.m.
