Blooming Prairie Head Football Coach Chad Gimbel named Class A and Coach of the Year by MFCA
Congratulations to Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossom head football coach Chad Gimbel, who was recently named the Class A and Head Coach of the Year by the Minnesota Football Coaches’ Association.
Gimbel, who has been at the helm for the Blossoms since 1997 guided his squad to the school’s first-ever title in football last fall as the Blossoms went 13-0. Blooming Prairie outscored their playoff opponents by a total of 239-74, as they never scored less than 40 points on their way to the title, which they claimed at U.S. Bank Stadium over the BOLD Warriors by a score of 41-15.
Gimbel has a career record of 178-65 at Blooming Prairie, and prior to 2019, Gimbel coached the Blossoms to state tournament appearances in 2009, when the squad advanced to the Class A semi-finals, 2011, when Blooming Prairie again advanced to the semi-finals, 2014 and 2018, when the Blossoms again advanced to the semi-finals.
