The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms were on the road Monday evening to take on the Lyle/Pacelli Athletics in a non-conference volleyball match, and it was the visiting Blossoms coming away with a 3-1 by scores of 25-9, 25-20, 23-25 and 25-13.

For the Blossoms, their two premiere front-row players led the way in hitting as Micalyn Trihus blasted down 14 kills, plus she added four ace blocks and six ace serves at the service line.  Julia Worke was also in double digits in kills with 13, and she led the Blossoms in ace blocks with six.  She also served up an ace and added 13 digs defensivley.  Maggie Bruns led Blooming Prairie in set assists with 15, plus she added six digs and an ace serve, while Heather Pirkl served three aces and added 12 assists.  Megan Oswald added six kills for the Blossoms as well.

For Lyle/Pacelli, who saw Zoe Achenbach serve 10 straight points in their third set win to give LP an 11-1 lead, Olivia Christianson led the way with nine kills, five ace blocks and one dig, while Vanessa Cotter added five kills and Whitney Walkup three kills and five ace blocks.  Abbey Neve added two kills, 17 set assists and three ace blocks and Rachel Nelson wa also strong at the net for Lyle/Pacelli with four ace blocks.

The Awesome Blossoms are now 11-11 on the season with the win, and they are back into action in the Gopher Conference at home this evening as they play host to a tough Medford squad.

Lyle/Pacelli is now 2-15 overall on the season, and they are also right back into action this evening at Glenville versus Glenville/Emmons in the Southeast Conference.
