Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms softball felled by Cannon Falls 20-5 in six innings Tuesday

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms softball team was in search of win number four in a row Tuesday at home versus the Cannon Falls Bombers in a non-conference matchup, and unfortunately for the Blossoms, the Bombers lived up to their nickname as they plated seven runs in the top of the 2nd and six more in the 6th on their way to a 20-5, 6-inning win.

Cannon Falls belted out 13 hits, four of them doubles, and offensively for Blooming Prairie, Shawntee Snyder went 2 for 4 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored, Anna Haberman was 2 for 3 with a run scored, shortstop and pitcher Macy Lembke went 1 for 2 with a pair of RBI’s and a run scored, and Ella Smith was 1 for 1 with a double.

Haven Carlson pitched the first 4 1/3rd innings for the Blossoms Tuesday and gave up 14 runs, with only eight earned as Blooming Prairie committed 10 errors in the game, 11 hits, and she struck out four and walked five.  Macy Lembke then pitched the last inning and two-thirds and gave up six runs, two earned, on two hits, striking out one and walking two.
