Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms softball felled by Bethlehem Academy 10-8 Monday

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms softball team was looking for win number four in a row at home Monday versus the Cardinals of Bethlehem Academy in a Gopher Conference matchup, but it was the Cardinals rallying back from deficits of 4-0 and 5-3 with four runs in the fourth and three more in the sixth to down the Blossoms 10-8.

Offensivley for the Blossoms, Shawntee Snyder, who has been on a tear as of late was 2 for 3 with a home run, three RBI’s and a run scored, Bobbie Bruns went 3 for 4 with a run knocked in and two more scored, catcher Layla Lembke went 2 for 4 with a RBI and a run scored, both Lauren Schammel and Lexi Steckelberg were 1 for 4 with a RBI apiece, Lily Schammel went 1 for 3 for the Blossoms with a run scored and leadoff hitter Macy Lembke was 1 for 4 with a run scored as the Blossoms scored four in the first, one in the third, two in the fourth and one in the sixth, but the Cardinals were able to score six unearned runs via five errors on BP in the game on their way to the win.

With the loss, Blooming Prairie is now 8-4 overall on the season and 6-3 in the Gopher Conference.  The Blossoms are back in action at home today (Tuesday) for a non-conference matchup with St. Clair/Loyola, with first pitch at 4:30 p.m.
