Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms girls basketball team wins third in a row 49-34 in Randolph Tuesday evening
The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms girls basketball team was looking for win number three in a row in Randolph Tuesday night versus the Rockets in a Gopher Conference matchup, and it was the Blossoms with three players in double figures in scoring, led by Haven Carlson and Anna Pauly with 12 points apiece as the Blossoms avenged a loss at home versus the Rockets earlier this season by the score of 49-34.
The Blossoms led 22-15 at the half, and Head Coach John Bruns stated that the squad was very sound defensively, giving up only 34 points to a Randolph squad averaging just under 58 points a game, and he added that offensively, the squad moved the ball well and adapted to Randolph’s multiple-defensive approach to find the shots that they wanted. Coach Bruns also cited great contributions from Chloe McCarthy, Addison Doocy and Sienna Fyksen, who did not score but played huge roles defensively, facilitating ball movement, handling Randolph’s press, and rebounding at both ends.
Carlson and Pauly both tallied 12 points and seven rebounds for Blooming Prairie Tuesday night, while Shawntee Snyder chipped in 11 points and nine rebounds. Macy Lembke drained two of the club’s five 3-pointers on her way to eight points and Claire Schwarz also hit a pair of 3’s for six points in the winning effort.
With the win, Blooming Prairie boosts their record to 9-9 overall and 8-5 in the Gopher Conference, and the Blossoms will look for win number four in a row Friday night at home versus NRHEG in the Gopher Conference, with the varsity tip-off at 7:15 p.m.
