Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms girls basketball team falls to Waseca 39-17 in defensive battle Thursday evening

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms girls basketball team, fresh off a 1-1 performance at the Hayfield Holiday Invitational and a home game versus St. Charles Tuesday evening postponed because of the weather played host to Waseca in a tough non-conference matchup, and in a defensive battle, it was the Bluejays coming out on top 39-17.

Shawntee Snyder led the Blossoms in scoring Thursday night with six points, plus she also pulled in six rebounds, Anna Pauly tallied four points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, Macy Lembke and Haven Carlson each scored two points, Sienna Fyksen and Hailey Schumacher each tallied one point and Addison Doocy pulled in seven rebounds in the loss that saw Waseca lead 18-7 at the half and connect on four 3-pointers to none for the Blossoms.

With the loss, Blooming Prairie is now 3-3 on the season, and the Blossoms are right back into action tonight (Friday) in Kenyon versus the Knights of Kenyon/Wanamingo in a Gopher Conference East Division matchup, with the varsity tip-off at 7:15 p.m.
