Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms girls basketball team downs Lyle/Pacelli 54-15 Monday evening

In a game your heard on AM 1480 KAUS, the Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms girls basketball team was in search of win number three in a row Monday evening as they played host to the Lyle/Pacelli Athletics in their brand-new gymnasium, and it was a stingy Blossoms defense yielding only four field goals for the entire game in a 54-15 win.

The Blossoms led 27-6 at the half and did not give up a field goal until Lyle/Pacelli’s Jada Leif swished a 3-pointer with 6:16 left in the first half to make the score 23-6 at that point.  The Blossoms had two players in double figures, led by guard Macy Lembke, who drilled all three of BP’s 3-pointers in the first half on her way to 15 points, fellow guard Sienna Fyksen added 10 points, Shawntee Snyder tallied nine points, Addison Doocy chipped in five points from the front court, Catelyn Bartlett and Ella Salinas both scored four points, Claire Schwarz added three points, and Hailey Schumacher tallied a field goal in the second half for two points.  For Lyle/Pacelli, the Athletics were led by Madeline Klankowski’s seven points, Jada Leif and Kirsten Koopal each scored three points, and Morgan Klankowski added two points.

With the win, Blooming Prairie is now 6-1 overall on the season and 4-0 in the Gopher Conference, and the Blossoms return to action Friday night at home versus Randolph in a Gopher Conference matchup, with the varsity tip-off at 7:15 p.m. that evening.  With the loss, Lyle/Pacelli is now 0-8 overall on the season, and the Athletics are back on the court in Mankato Thursday evening versus the Crusaders of Mankato Loyola, with the varsity tip-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
