Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms boys basketball team outguns W-E-M 84-76 Friday night

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms boys basketball team was back at home Friday night in a Gopher Conference matchup with Waterville-Elysian-Morristown, and it was Gabe Hein pouring in 28 points and Brady Kittleson adding 25 as the Blossoms outdueled the Buccaneers 84-76.

Blooming Prairie led 36-35 at the half, and the Blossoms used a huge advantage at the free throw line to help their winning cause Friday night as BP shot 43 free throws to 19 for the Buccaneers, and they drained 26 of them to 15 for W-E-M.

Besides Hein and Kittleson combining for 53 points, Cooper Cooke was also in double figures for the Blossoms with 17 points, Zach Hein drained two of BP’s four 3-pointers on his way to eight points, Colby Vigeland tallied four points and Sam Smith scored two points in the win Friday night.

Blooming Prairie is now 7-11 overall and 3-9 in the Gopher Conference, and the Blossoms return to action Monday evening in Lewiston against Lewiston-Altura out of the Three Rivers Conference, with the varsity tip scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
