Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms boys basketball team falls to Chatfield 55-40 Thursday evening

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms boys basketball team was looking for their first win of the season on their home court Thursday evening versus the Chatfield Gophers in a non-conference matchup, but it was the Gophers outscoring the Blossoms 26-15 in the second half on their way to a 55-40 win.

Blooming Prairie, who trailed 29-25 at the half was led offensively by Zach Hein, who tallied 14 points, four rebounds and four assists, Gabe Hein tallied 13 points, team-highs in rebounds with nine and assists with three, plus he added two steals and two blocked shots, Cooper Cooke chipped in seven points, six rebounds, one assist and two blocked shots, Sam Smith added three points and four boards and Jacob Pauly also scored three points, plus he added two rebounds and one assist.

With the loss, the Blossoms are now 0-3 on the young season, and Blooming Prairie returns to action next Friday, December 16th when they hit the road to Medford for a Gopher Conference matchup, with the varsity tip-off at 7:15 p.m. that evening.
