Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms boys basketball team edged by Triton 61-57 to wrap up regular season

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms boys basketball team was looking to wrap up the regular season on a three-game winning streak as they played host to Triton in a Gopher Conference tilt Friday night, but it was the Cobras eking out a 61-57 victory.

The game was tied at 32 apiece at the halftime break, and each team drained four 3-point field goals, but a key difference in the game was at the foul line, where the Cobras shot 21 free throws to 12 for the Blossoms, and drained 13 of them to seven for Blooming Prairie.  The Blossoms had three players in double figures Friday night, led by Brady Kittleson, who finished with 19 points, Gabe Hein added 15 points, Zack Hein swished three of the club’s four 3-pointers on his way to 13 points, Cooper Cooke chipped in six points and Kolby Vigeland scored four points Friday evening.

Blooming Prairie winds up the regular season with a record of 9-15, and the Blossoms will open the Section 1AA tournament next Thursday, March 2nd.
