Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms boys basketball team downs Hayfield 68-39 Tuesday evening

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms boys bsaketball team traveled to Hayfield Tuesday evening for their last road game of the 2023-2024 regular season versus the Vikings in a Gopher Conference matchup, and Zack Hein and Brady Kittleson led four Blossoms in double figures in scoring with 14 points apiece in a 68-39 win.

Both Hein and Kittleson drained a 3-point field goal in the win, with Gabe Staloch swishing the other 3-pointer in the game for the Blossoms on his way to 13 points, Gabe Hein chipped in 12 points, Kolby Vigeland scored six points Tuesday evening, Jacob Pauly tallied four points, Cooper Cooke and Carter Bishop added two points apiece, and Ty Forystek scored one point in a game that saw the Blossoms pull away from a 36-24 halftime lead, and the game also saw a huge advantage at the foul line for Blooming Prairie, as the Blossoms were 15 for 22 from the line, while the Vikings were 3 for 3.

With the win, the Blossoms, who are the Gopher Conference East Division champions with a record of 13-1 are now 23-2 overall on the season, and the Blossoms will wrap up the regular season with a Friday night matchup with Kenyon-Wanamingo, with tip-off scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
