Automobile travel for the 4th of July expected to set a new record despite high gas prices

If you’re heading out on the road for the July Fourth holiday weekend, pack patience.  Triple-A is predicting automobile travel will set a new record despite historically high gas prices.  Spokeswoman Meredith Mitts:

According to the website gasbuddy.com, the current average price for a gallon of unleaded gas in Mower County is $4.73.  The county with the highest average price for a gallon of unleaded is Koochiching on the state’s northern border at $4.89, while the lowest average price is in Carlton County in northeastern Minnesota at $4.44.  The statewide average price for a gallon of unleaded gas is $4.69, while the national average is at $4.85.  Mitts says this is a definite sign that summer travel is kicking into high gear.
