Authorities are investigating after a shed fire was reported in Dexter late Monday evening.

The Dexter Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 11:10 p.m. Monday evening to the shed fire in the 100 block of  North Main St. Mower County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Minnesota State Patrol also responded to assist. Mower County Sheriff Steve Sandvik reported that the Dexter Fire Department needed to respond a second time at approximately 5:20 a.m. Tuesday morning to extinguish hot spots.

Sheriff Sandvik stated that the structure was unoccupied at the time of the fire and there were no injuries reported. The MN State Fire Marshal’s Office was called and will be responding for further investigation.

Sandvik stated that there has been no estimate of damages, and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
