Authorities are still investigating the cause of a house fire early Friday evening in the 700 block of 5th Avenue NW in Austin.
Chief of Police Dave McKichan reported that officers and firefighters responded to a call of a house fire just before 6 p.m. Friday evening at 704 5th Ave. NW. A woman and her two children were in the residence at the time. The woman told first responders that she was asleep when a neighbor woke her up and told her the house was on fire.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but Chief McCoy stated that foul play is not suspected.
The house sustained an estimated $50,000 in damage.
