The Austin Packers wrestling team took part in the 17-team Edina Invitational on Saturday, and Tommy Fritz was the high finisher for the Packers, going 3-2 on the day for a 6th place finish.
Coach Jacob Nelson reported that several varsity wrestlers missed placing by one match, and 16 out of 17 Packer wrestlers won at least  one match and seven wrestlers won at least two matches.  Coach Nelson stated that the squad had a lot of success on the JV side, with Joe Hoffmann taking 6th place at 138, Rylan Clark 1st at 145, Nelson LeBarron 6th at 152 pounds, Mark Tamke was runner-up at 160 and Maxx Oldenkamp was 3rd at heavyweight.
Farmington was the winner of the 17-team invitational with 207.5 team points, followed by Lake City with 176.5, Eden Prairie with 157.5, Cannon Falls with 152 points and Grand Rapids 94 points to round out the top five.
