An Austin woman who pleaded guilty to a welfare fraud charge in Mower County District Court has been sentenced to supervised probation and fines.

60-year old Vicky Lynn Hanson was sentenced Friday to two years of supervised probation and ordered to pay just over $6,800 in fines and fees.

Hanson pleaded guilty in January to one count of wrongfully obtaining government assistance. Investigators reported that Hanson did not report monthly spousal maintenance payments of $714 a month that she received from her ex-husband.
