Austin woman pleads guilty to felony assault charge in Mower County District Court

An Austin woman charged with two counts of attempted murder after intentionally hitting a man with her car at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 1st Street Southeast in July of 2019 has pleaded guilty to a felony assault charge in Mower County District Court.

21-year old Tori Jersusha Ann Ward pleaded guilty during a plea hearing Friday to a charge of felony first-degree assault, great bodily harm.  

Charges of felony first-degree attempted murder, premeditated, felony second-degree attempted murder with intent, not premeditated and felony second-degree assault, dangerous weapon, substantial bodily harm will be dismissed at her sentencing.

Ward will be sentenced at a later date in Mower County District Court.
