Austin volleyball sweeps Red Wing 3-0
The Austin Packers volleyball team played host to Big 9 rival Red Wing Tuesday evening at Packer Gym, and it was the Packers getting back on the winning track with a 25-23, 25-17 and 25-21 win.
Erica Lundberg and Avery Thompson led the Packers in hitting with 12 kills apiece. Lundberg added 14 digs and two ace serves, while Thompson added six digs defensivley to go with two ace serves. Kyra Walters put down seven kills for Austin, and Jordyn McCormack and Lexi Stich added six and five kills, respectivley. Madisyn Retterath led the Packers in digs with 16, plus she served up three aces, and AJ Richard put up 36 set assists, and added eight digs, two kills and an ace serve.
Austin is now 2-6 in the Big 9 and 9-10 overall on the season. The Packers are back in action Thursday night with a tough road test at Northfield, who is currently ranked number two in the state in Class AAA. The action starts at 7:00 p.m.
