Austin Schools to provide free meals until May 4th
In response to the upcoming school closures, Austin Public Schools will be providing an opportunity for all students to receive meals, free of charge.
Austin Schools have been working with community partners to provide the meals to any child, ages 1-18. Buses will be at the locations listed below from 11:30 to 12:30, Monday through Friday, March 26 – May 4th. As a reminder, there will be no food distribution on April 10th. Every child will be provided with a bag lunch and a breakfast for the following day. Meals can be picked up by the student or a parent/guardian.
If your student has special dietary needs, such as a gluten free meal, please call 460-1919 before 9:30 am to let Austin Schools know your needs and from what site you will be picking up your meals. Bus locations will include Banfield, Nevlen, Sumner and Southgate Elementary Schools, Woodson Kindergarten Center, Mandolin Apartments, Meadows West Apartments, Oakland Park, Austin Park, Murphy’s Creek and City Limits Apartments.
Drive-up locations will still include the Hastings Gym parking lot at Austin High School, I.J. Holton Intermediate School and Palmer Bus Depot at 409 11th Street Northeast.
