Austin Public Schools distributed a letter this morning concerning the distribution of food to students during the upcoming school closures.  It reads…

Austin Public Schools will be distributing food to students during the upcoming school closures.  We will be providing both a bag lunch and a breakfast for the following day to all children ages 1-18 free of charge.  These meals can be picked up by the students or by a parent/guardian.  We have numerous pick up locations throughout Austin, as noted in the attached flyer.  Thank you for helping us spread the word to help our students during this time.

Here at Austin Public Schools, student health and safety is one of our top concerns, and we know that many students depend on the meals served at our schools.  In response to the upcoming school closures, we are providing an opportunity for all students to receive meals, free of charge.

We have been working with community partners to provide these meals to any child, ages 1-18.  Buses will be at the locations listed from 11:30 to 12:30, Monday through Friday, March 18-27. Every child will be provided with a bag lunch and a breakfast for the following day.  Meals can be picked up by the student or a parent/guardian.
