Austin Police investigating after responding to Monday night disturbance call
Austin Police are investigating after responding to a disturbance call on East Oakland Avenue Monday evening.
Officers responded to a disturbance call at 8:35 p.m. Monday evening from the 500 block of East Oakland Avenue. Chief of Police Dave McKichan reported that an adult male was located and had a sheathed knife and a piece of broken glass in his possession. While admitting to being in a fight, McKichan stated that he was otherwise uncooperative and no one else was located in the area.
Officers released the man and cleared the scene to respond to a possible burglary in the 400 block of 1st St. SE. Chief McKichan stated that officers located another adult male who was agitated and had a small puncture wound to the back. He claimed to have also been in a fight, but McKichan indicated that he did not name the person the officers had just dealt with.
The man was taken to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Austin for treatment, and Chief McKichan reported that the case remains under investigation.
